WHO ME, AN ARTIST?
Yes, you! No prior artistic experience is necessary to be successful with meditative drawing. We provide all of the tools and knowledge that you need – both artistic and atmospheric. Students are initially taught several patterns drawing inspiration from nature, symbols, and designs from around the world. Cultivated playlists and aromatherapy are tailored to accompany each drawing session, which help to both heighten the senses and create a serene drawing environment.
Using Micron pens, colored pencils, and Sharpie markers, the classroom is transformed into a space where you can unwind and allow your creative persona to be fully present. This type of art induces a state of relaxed focus and encourages introspection similar to that found in yoga or other meditative processes. Workshops focused on drawing mandalas are also offered to interested students.
LIVE (VIRTUAL) WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Our workshops focus on relaxation, positive thinking, and pattern development. With no past experience necessary, we will equip you with the tools you need to create a work of art that is dually beautiful and inspirational. Read on to determine the right workshop for you.
ONE-TIME WORKSHOPS.
These themed 60-to-90 minute workshops emphasize the integration of intricate patterns with quotations to create inspirational works of art. The end product is perfectly sized to display on your desk or in your at-home office, and requires no prior experience to create. We recommend that you have the following supplies on-hand to participate, which you can purchase as a bundle from our Online Shop or on Amazon*:
Sharpie marker (fine and extra fine)
Sharpie pen
#2 pencil
Tortillon (or Q-tip)
Cardstock, copy paper, watercolor paper, or drawing paper (Bristol smooth Strathmore Artist tiles, vellum surface [6x6 Paper])
*Metaphys-inks may collect a small commission from supplies purchased through our Amazon store.
ENRICHMENT FOR SENIORS.
Due to current social distancing requirements, senior living facilities have become limited in their ability to offer enrichment programs to their residents. We are pleased to be able to offer virtual workshops for seniors, providing both social connectivity and a source of creativity. No previous artistic experience is required to participate - we focus on pairing meaningful quotes with easy yet beautiful patterns. We offer either one-time workshops or ongoing enrichment packages, and can structure courses for group participation within your facility or for individual participation.
HEALTH & WELLNESS ENRICHMENT.
We love bringing communities together through the power of creativity. In its early days, Metaphys-inks established itself as a provider of creative workshops to community-based organizations. If you are a library, school, religious institution, yoga studio, or summer camp looking to provide a source of (digital) creative calm to your constituents, we would love to work with you.
RETREATS, HAPPY HOURS, AND GROUP EVENTS.
Looking for a way to connect with friends, family, or colleagues, but sick of the same old Zoom “happy hour” routine? We couple live, virtual, instruction with plenty of time to socialize, leading to a fun, creative outcome for all. We recommend that you have the following supplies on-hand to participate, which you can purchase as a bundle from our Online Shop or on Amazon*:
